Mi NoteBook 14 series is launched in India with 10th generation Intel processors

After years of waiting and weeks of teasing, Xiaomi finally ventured into the laptops segment with Mi Notebook 14 and Mi Notebook 14 Horizon edition. Xiaomi is touting that the Mi Notebook series is specifically tailored for the Indian market, and they are positioning this series as their premium offerings.

Mi Notebook 14 Horizon edition

Mi Notebook 14 Horizon edition is the brand's flagship offering in India. The laptop packs in a 14" LCD display in a 13" footprint. Xiaomi was able to pull this off by shrinking the bezels on all four sides. The bottom chin is slightly thicker than the other three sides, and it houses the Mi branding.  The laptop has an impressive screen to body ratio of 91% with just a Mi branding at the bottom. The laptop boasts an aluminum chassis and weighs at around 1.35 Kgs, which makes this laptop incredibly lighter to carry around. Powering the laptop is Intel's 10th gen i5 or i7 processor (Comet lake processors fabricated on advanced 14 nm technology), and the dedicated 2GB Nvidia MX 350 GPU takes care of the graphics department. On the storage front, the laptop has 512 GB of NVme m.2 SSD, and it is paired with 8 GB of DDR4 Ram clocked at 2666 Mhz. The laptop draws its power from a 46 Wh battery, and Xiaomi claims that the laptop can last up to 10 hours on a single charge. Xiaomi has bundled a 65W charger, which can charge the battery from 0 to 50% under 35 minutes. Xiaomi uses a chicklet type keyboard with scissor-type key switches and has key travel of 1.6 mm for comfortable typing experience but misses out keyboard backlight support which is expected in this price range. The trackpad is made up of plastics and comes with window's precision drivers. On the connectivity front, the laptop has two USB type A 3.1 port, 1 USB type A 2.0 port, USB type C port, 3.5 mm audio jack, and an HDMI port.

Mi Notebook 14

Mi Notebook 14 is the toned-down version of the Horizon edition. The laptop boasts a similar design to that of its elder sibling, but the bezels are slightly huger when compared to the Hoziron edition. The laptop is powered by the Intel 10th gen i5 Comet lake processor fabricated on advanced 14 nm technology.  Users have the option to choose from integrated Intel UHD 620 GPU or dedicated Nvidia MX 250 GPU with 256 GB or 512 GB of SATA SSD storage options whereas, rest of the specifications are similar to that of the Horizon edition.
