Apple might ship iPhone 12 series without charger and headphones

Apple iPhone 12 series is round the corner, and the rumor mills have started to churn out extensively. According to recent reports, Apple may skip headphones and even the charger with the iPhone 12 series. Seems strange right? Let's discuss more Apple's latest move in detail in this post.

Apple is one of those brands which loves to make unconventional and daring moves. Back in 2016, Apple ditched the headphone jack in iPhone 7, initially, Apple's move was criticized by many people, but soon it was widely accepted, and now almost all brands are excluding the headphone jack. The omission of headphone jack helped Apple to sell its Airpods in large numbers, and they were able to generate a lot of income from it.

Similar to this, Apple is planning to ditch the charger with the iPhone 12 series as a cost-cutting measure. It is rumored that the iPhone 12 series will start at $650, which is $50 lesser than the base iPhone 11 model. We have covered extensively about the upcoming iPhone 12 series in a separate post. If you haven't seen it yet, you can check it out by clicking here

Apple usually ships dated 5W chargers with their entry-level iPhones, where most of the people would opt for an aftermarket fast charger. Keeping this in mind, Apple might have skipped the charger in the box, and most of the iPhone purchasers will have a spare charger lying around the corner. Apple is also expected to launch a 20W fast charger in the future, and this move will help Apple to market its newer brick much efficiently.

Apple usually markets their products and decisions effectively when compared to other brands. Even for the omission of the charger and headphones, Apple might market their latest decision from an eco-friendly perspective, and to be honest, Apple can reduce a lot of e-waste by excluding the accessories in the box. Apple can also reduce the sizes of the packaging boxes of the new iPhones by skipping the in-box accessories, and they will boast it as an ecofriendly move during the presentation.

The charger is a bare minimal accessory for any smartphone, and if you are shifting from Android to iOS, you must order a charger along with your iPhone 12 series. Let's wait and see whether Apple really skips the charger with the iPhone 12 series, and if it does so, I am eagerly waiting for how Apple will announce it in their launch event.
