Apple may launch 4G based iPhone 12 models at an aggressive price of $550

Apple is expected to launch its iPhone 12 series in September, and Apple will launch multiple iPhone models this time. Recently, a rumor has spun off stating that, Apple may launch a sub $600 iPhone without 5G capabilities. A relatively new tipster @omegaleaks in twitter claims that Apple is gearing up to launch LTE based iPhone 12, and iPhone 12 Max, and says that the prices will start at $549 and $649 respectively.

A 4G only iPhone does make sense since most of the countries like India will take at least some more time to get 5G network, and spending an extra premium for 5G enabled devices makes no sense as of now. Apple might have thought of this and could have come up with an idea of launching 4G based iPhone 12 devices.

The speculated pricing of LTE based iPhone 12 seems to correlate will the speculated pricing of 5G based iPhone 12 series devices. As per the famous Apple tipster @Jon_Prosser, Apple will launch four 5G based iPhones all with an OLED display, and it will start at $649 and will go up to $1099 (base models). For more details about the 5G based iPhone 12 series, we have covered it extensively in a separate post, consider checking it out.

The specifications of LTE based iPhone 12 are scarce as of now. Some reports claim that Apple will launch a single 5.4" 4G iPhone 12 whereas, other reports claim that there will be two 4G based iPhones at 5.4" and 6.1" respectively. These new 4G based iPhones (if it exists) will also boast Apple A14 Bionic processor, and the display tech (LCD or OLED) remains unclear as of now.

All these leaks must be taken with a pinch of salt, as nothing is official as of now. The tipster @omegaleaks is also relatively newer to this field and has no proven track record. Let's wait and see, if Apple manages to launch a 4G based iPhone at $549 (approx. 42,000 INR) without much compromise on the specifications, then, it will sell like hot pancakes in most countries. Apple can also capture a huge chunk of the Indian smartphone market by capitalizing on the prevailing Anti-Chinese sentiment if they manage to price their smartphones more sensibly and aggressively in India.

Stay tuned, if we have any update regarding the upcoming iPhone 12 series we will update you as soon as possible.
