WhatsApp introduces animated stickers, QR code, dark mode for desktop and more in their latest update

WhatsApp, the world's largest chat platform, has recently updated its application with few exciting features. WhatsApp's latest features include Dark mode for WhatsApp web and desktop, animated stickers, QR code, status feature for KaiOS devices, and improvements to group video calls. Let's find out more about these latest updates in this blog post.

Animated stickers

Stickers are fun little nifty features that changed the way of expressing our messages in the chat platform. WhatsApp's latest animated stickers pack helps you to express your context in a much funnier and attractive way.

QR code

Have you ever felt the hassle of sharing your contact details when you meet a new person? WhatsApp QR code is here to your rescue. Using this feature, someone can easily save your contact details by scanning your WhatsApp QR code. Your WhatsApp QR code can be accessed from the settings menu right next to your profile picture and display name.

Dark mode for WhatsApp web and desktop

Whatsapp recently updated its WhatsApp mobile app with dark mode, and now they have introduced a dark theme to both their WhatsApp web and desktop applications. Users can enable dark mode by navigating to Settings > Themes > Dark in WhatsApp web and desktop applications.

Updates in Group video call

Recently, WhatsApp increased the group video call limit to 8 persons, and users can now enlarge a particular participant's video call to full size by pressing and holding their video for a few seconds. In addition to this, if you have groups with less than or equal to 8 participants, those groups will have a video call icon to facilitate group video calls on a single tap.

WhatsApp status in KaiOS

WhatsApp status feature is available in Android and iOS devices for a long time, and now KaiOS users can also enjoy this feature. Jio Phones are popular KaiOS based devices, and if you are a Jio phone user, now you can upload status and can view your contact's status.

These latest features are currently available in the latest WhatsApp Beta and will roll out to the stable versions in the coming weeks.
