Redmi launched the most affordable Redmi Note 9 smartphone in the Redmi Note 9 lineup in India. The smartphone boasts a similar design language and has a quad-camera setup like its elder siblings. With Redmi Note 9, Xiaomi finally refreshes all the smartphones in its popular Redmi Note lineup. 

Redmi Note 9 specifications

Redmi Note 9 boasts a glass sandwich design like its predecessors and comes with a 6.53" FHD+ LCD-display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone has a peak brightness of 450 nits and has 91.4% of screen to body ratio. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Helio G85 processor, making it the first smartphone to land in India with this processor. On the GPU front, Mali-G52 takes care of the graphics performance. 

On the camera department, the smartphone boasts a quad-camera setup. The primary camera is a 48 MP sensor with f/1.79 aperture, and the secondary shooter is an 8 MP ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture and has 119 degrees FOV. The final two cameras are 2 MP macro lens and 2 MP depth sensor, respectively. The 13 MP front-facing snapper is tucked inside a tiny punch hole to the top left corner. 

The smartphone draws its power from a 5020 mAh battery and charges via the USB Type-C port. Interestingly, the Redmi Note 9 comes with a faster 22.5W charger in the box, whereas Redmi Note 9 Pro has an 18W charger included in the box. 

On the connectivity front, the smartphone comes with dual SIM 4G and VoWifi, 2.4/5GHz WiFi, and Bluetooth 5.0 support. On the software department, Redmi Note 9 runs on MIUI 11 UI based on Android 10. The device comes with a rear-mounted physical fingerprint sensor along with support for face unlock. 

Redmi Note 9 is available in 4GB+64GB, 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB configurations with a dedicated MicroSD card for storage expansion and it is priced at Rs.11,999, Rs.13,499 and Rs.14,999 respectively. The smartphone is available in Arctic White, Aqua Green, and Pebble Grey color options.
